Meet Edesia

MeWe Baby is made by Edesia, a non-profit that supplies humanitarian aid agencies like UNICEF with life-saving ready-to-use foods. Since 2010, Edesia has helped treat and prevent malnutrition in 9 million children in over 50 countries.

Meet the founder

In 2009 native-New Englander Navyn Salem founded Edesia to further the impact of Plumpy'Nut, a revolutionary ready-to-use therapeutic food. When you buy MeWe Baby, you’re not only helping children avoid peanut allergies, you’re also helping Navyn’s mission grow. Her goal is to have Edesia reach 10 million malnourished children by 2020.

From Navyn

In 2007 I learned about Plumpy'Nut and how it was revolutionizing the way humanitarian organizations could save the lives of malnourished children.

It was seeing children bounce back to life with such an easy solution that drove Edesia to develop foods that could also benefit people here at home, whether you’re seven months old or seventy years young.

A Global Family

At Edesia, MeWe is made right alongside our humanitarian foods for UNICEF and the World Food Programme. Our diverse team of 100 hail from 26 countries.

How are Edesia products distributed?

Organizations such as UNICEF, the World Food Programme, and government agencies help determine where our products are needed most – like Chad, Yemen, and Venezuela.
